About Ainslie

I had always taken photos as a child on my little 'point and shoot' camera I was given by my parents. I had a fascination of wanting to 'capture the moment'- and what better way than with photography!

It wasn't until I finished school and started exploring life and my options, that I found the more I thought/read about and did photography- the more I wanted to learn and practice! So, fast forward to Spring 2001 and by now I knew that photography was too much apart of me- it was all I wanted to do, (along with my art, which I had been creating since a child also) so I saved up from my job and finally bought my "dream camera"- a Canon EOS SLR, complete with wide angle and telephoto lenses. There was no stopping me now! My camera was permanently around my neck!

Through the years with this camera, (which I still have and use to this day) I self-taught about photography: composition, lighting, angles and the mechanical side of it too. By the time digital cameras were all the rage, I found myself drooling over every DSLR displayed in the shops! So, in October 2008- I did it again. I saved and bought a Canon EOS DSLR!

It is my thoughts that photography is an art form in itself. It takes practice, knowledge and skill to produce more than just 'a photo'. I want my photography to be the art- to give others a sense of what I see through my artistic eye and show a piece of myself every time I click that shutter. It is not enough for me to consider myself all that I know or will learn in my artistic journey and so I am continously pushing myself and striving to improve, learn and become the best I can be. I do not classify myself as professional- I have too much to learn and improve upon!

I take a strong stance against manipulated photos, (e.g. changing a horse's conformation to better that horse etc.) but with my new MacBook Pro laptop that was gifted to me, I have discovered the fun and excitement of using technology to turn photos into Fine Art, (without touching the actual horse)! I have created my first, (what I refer to) "FineArtPho"or FAP with the photo  titled "Spiritual Flow".
